I am an Assistant Professor in the School of Library and Information Studies (SLIS) at the University of Oklahoma (OU). My areas of expertise include the Maker movement; youth services in public and school libraries; learning and community engagement through libraries; information needs, seeking, use, and creation; and competencies for information professionals. I am currently the principal investigator of two IMLS-funded research projects on youth, informal learning, and Making in libraries and museums (See my IMLS CAREER project website: Youth STEAM Learning by Making in Libraries and Museums). My research also aims to identify competencies needed for professionals working in Makerspaces. I teach LIS5193 Information Resources and Services for Young Adults, LIS5183 Information Resources and Services for Children, and LIS5970 Makerspaces: Theory and Practice at OU SLIS.
